When we get ready to can our tomatoes or make salsa, we cover every counter space with towels. They are clean. They catch, stop, and soak up every drop, spill, and mess. When we're finished, we put the towels in the laundry, and counters are perfect.Helenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12410396096264457223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7964660014718272744.post-72364875162285687442012-07-31T21:47:32.391-05:002012-07-31T21:47:32.391-05:00I want to grow fruit so bad!!! I would love to grow currants and blackberries one day. Thanks for letting me know about your recipe - I'll check it out!lesleyzellershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14240488081589861469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7964660014718272744.post-30784567176191879562012-07-31T21:45:25.185-05:002012-07-31T21:45:25.185-05:00I do use fresh herbs from the garden. We've dried them in the past and put them in jars after but I read (haven't tried yet) that you can add some olive oil to fresh herbs, put them in ice cube trays and freeze for later use. Worth trying!lesleyzellershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14240488081589861469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7964660014718272744.post-2319525898551326902012-07-31T21:43:32.712-05:002012-07-31T21:43:32.712-05:00Other hand on the belt was her trying to steal the...Other hand on the belt was her trying to steal the mag!lesleyzellershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14240488081589861469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7964660014718272744.post-10887097929957277862012-07-31T21:42:43.933-05:002012-07-31T21:42:43.933-05:00Awesome! We have only 1 unopened pint of blackberry jam left from last summer and it tastes amazing! And, the jelly jars are super cute! I have an easy recipe on my blog if you'd like to try it!The Erickson Familyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14237800877908875636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7964660014718272744.post-58070358113608075442012-07-20T12:25:14.199-05:002012-07-20T12:25:14.199-05:00love the little hand putting the magazine on the c...love the little hand putting the magazine on the conveyor belt! I have never canned anything. But I also don't have a garden :-(

I love spicy salsa! I am so glad you got a food processor. Poor thing having to hand-cut all of that stuff! I always use that Pampered Chef mini chopper thing to cut jalapaneos, garlic, and onions when I make salsa.

Do you have fresh herbs? If so, how do you keep those to use after the season is over? My grandparents have a butt-load of rosemary!Alicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01700287219255097696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7964660014718272744.post-27381694030310814892012-07-19T18:34:42.658-05:002012-07-19T18:34:42.658-05:00That is awesome! I, too have been afraid of canning (or jarring...hee hee) and I see that its really not as hard as it sounds! You have inspired me to try this myself!Sarahhttp://redheadrunner.comnoreply@blogger.com
