This past week I've been cleaning, sanding and painting my old bed from when I was little for Sweet P.
She tested out the springs and we moved all her blankets over. Now she's sleeping in a big girl bed.
I may have shed a tear or two at the fact that she's never going to be in a crib again.
This was her when she was a wee little one, peeking out at me from her crib.
How do they grow up so fast?!
So very fast.
She is seriously a little doll and I LOVE her room. Do you know what paint you used? It's so beautiful and soft.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's Sherwin Williams silver spring.
DeleteLove her bed. You did a good job! It is hard when you realize they will never be a baby again. Bittersweet!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anna. It truly is.
Deletei love that she get's to sleep in your bed.
ReplyDeleteSO great!! and her room looks so sweet!!
Aww, thanks.
Deleteit's such a big step for our little girls. bitter sweet to say the least.
ReplyDeleteSuch a big step but she's doing so good already.
DeleteSuch Beautiful photos! Switching from crib to the "Big Bed" is bitter sweet indeed! Each stage has its wonderful moments...like that first jump on the Big Girl bed :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Amy. I love seeing her hit new stages but it's also a little sad to know she'll never return to the stages she's passed. I guess it's part of growing up and I'm thankful I get to be here to watch them.
DeleteHow wonderful to use your old bed! She looks so content and excited! I completely understand shedding a tear or two!
ReplyDeleteThe newness hasn't worn off yet because she's putting herself to bed! She loves it.
Deleteawe! She is so cute. Love her (your) bed. Just curious...what is your hubby looking at in that photo? I can't tell if it is her or not. LOL!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Ha! He's tucking the sheet in and making sure it's pressed all the way against the wall.
DeleteThey do grow up so very fast! My oldest is a 3rd grader and I can't believe it!
ReplyDeleteI know! I'm sure I'll be saying the same thing in a few years.
DeleteMy oldest are both going to be in middle school next year, 6th and 8th graders. :-( makes me sad. Next thing I know, they will be going to college and LEAVING me :-(
Deletethat is so neat that she will be in your bed.
ReplyDeleteshe's so big!
I'm always surprised at how fast this time goes. Trying to savor every minute.
Deletei know it's bittersweet ~ but there is little to compare w. laying next to your little one at night, reading them a story, praying over them, and tucking them in.
ReplyDeletei pray that you & your little sweet P share many priceless moments in her new "big girl" bed...
and i pray for peace on those nights when she doesn't want to go to bed...jumps on her bed when she should be laying down...vomits on her beautiful bed...and gets up *one* more time :)
