Errr, belly.
You know that old saying, "a watched pot never boils?"
Well, same can be true with a pregnant belly, especially when the Dr. tells you that you probably won't make it through the weekend.
That, my friends, is the kiss of death. Don't tell me that. Tell me you'll see me at the next appointment. That way I don't sit around all weekend analyzing every single movement in hopes it's the start of something meaningful!
Dramatic a bit? No, not me. Just a very pregnant lady ready to meet her boy or girl - who also happened to defy the Dr. and made it through another weekend.
Sheesh.
I'm sure it will be any day now :)
ReplyDeleteIs you phone an Iphone? Can you tell me where you got the case? I love it!
Hi Lisa! So glad you like my case. Yes, it's an iphone and I made the cover art and ordered it through uncommon. You can see the post about the diy here: http://www.recipeforcrazy.com/2011/12/copy-case.html
DeleteI kept checking over the weekend --- thinking there would be a baby announcement!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was pregnant with my son, the last appointment the doc said, "Oh -- you're nowhere near ready. See you next week." I went into labor 12 hours later. Babies come when they are darn good and ready -- and sometimes to be defiant. :) :)
Just enjoy another day of sleep while you can.
That's encouraging!! Thanks, I need to take your advice on getting extra rest for sure.
Deleteoh so true! i hope your little one comes along sooner than later!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Molly, me too!
DeleteCommon baby it's time to arrive! Been there 4 times & so agree with you... it is like watching a kettle boil (& the caregivers shouldn't get our hopes up like that!!!). Rest while you can & do something super special for yourself.
ReplyDeleteI like that idea of doing something special, hmm, maybe a Sonic ice cream shake!
DeleteWell, my doctor told me G would be due any day and it took him a whole MONTH to arrive. Talk about being on your toes for a month. Baby will be here before you know it. :) PS. You are the smallest and cutest preggo lady ever!
ReplyDeleteAHHHH! I don't like the sound of that! I can't go another month!!! PS, thanks lady!!
DeleteGirl, you are CUTE!
ReplyDeleteThanks, grace :)
DeleteYou are adorable! I was never dialated past a 1-2 with any of my 3 kids. I was only effaced like maybe 20% before I had them. I had to evict my first and only daughter 11 days after her due date. My oldest son came 2 days before his due date and he was the best and easiest labor I had. And I induced with my 2 year old on his actual due date. Thank God I didn't wait because he was 9 lbs 9 oz!! I can't wait to see your baby and find out if it is a boy or girl and what the name is!
ReplyDeletei stalked...errr checked you blog off and on all weekend thinking checking to see if you had any news!!! you are adorable pregnant!
ReplyDeletefingers crossed for the happy event to start soon!! :)
Doctors shouldn't say stuff like that. Not fair! Only God knows your sweet baby's birthday. Before time began.
ReplyDeleteAnd, um, you look amazing!
WHY do they say those things?! Seriously. I called my doctor out on it with my 4th baby. "Don't say that. You have no idea. Baby comes when Baby comes." He nodded sheepishly and said I was right.
ReplyDeleteha ha.
BUT - the good thing is, little one can't stay in there forever! :) It will be SOON :) Very soon!
