food truckin

While out and about the other day, we passed by a fun little food truck. If you're local, it's on 11th St, near downtown called, Lola's Gypsy Caravan.

It's pretty easy to spot because it's a shiny Airstream trailer parked along Route 66.

I had a hard time deciding what to order because so many things looked good.

I almost ordered the tacos because I love food truck tacos and wanted to try their's but I decided on the Chic' Adobo sandwich because it had goat cheese! Next trip I'm getting the tacos and a cookie. I hear the cookies are some of the best in town.

The sandwich did not disappoint. It wasn't too spicy and it had a generous helping of goat cheese - so good. We sat out front under the shaded picnic tables, ate and did a little people watching.

Perfect day for from a food truck.

I'm curious. Do you eat at food trucks?

If so, what one's are your favorites, if you're local. I love me some Mr. Tacos and am always on the lookout for other good ones.

I hear the one at the Cherry St. Farmers Market is really good. I may have to try that one next.

  1. haha...before I saw which one you picked I looked at the menu and picked the same one for the same reason...the goat cheese! Look delish! There's this one in Houston I pass all the time called "Rice Box" and it makes me laugh bc it sounds like "icebox". One of these days I'll make time to stop because I've heard great things about them.

  2. There's a airstream trailer in Austin called "Flip Happy" and they serve crepes. They are the best I have ever had. I love the one with salmon, with fresh sliced tomatoes and a lemon dill cream cheese spread for lunch with a nutella and banana crepe for dessert. I found out about them when they were on "Throwdown" with Bobby Flay. If your ever in the Austin area it's a must!

  5. You know .... I don't think I've ever seen a food truck (trailer/airstream-type) here in New England. They sorta have something like them at the agricultural fairs. Must be some puritanical law or something. LOL!!

But I sure wish they did have them out and about!! I LOVE food adventures!

  8. Wow! Everything looks good. I want to come to Tulsa to try it. We have food trucks, but unfortunately they are either in LA or downtown San Diego, which are both too far to go for lunch, but make a good date event. I would love to open an all pancake related food truck. You should open a donut one!!! ;)

  9. I'm so glad you introduce food places on here! I work within a mile from there and NEVER KNEW IT WAS THERE. And so many times I have ate QT for lunch... Well today I ventured out and found Lola's. Had the tacos and they were DELISH! I honestly probably never would have ate from a food truck but I trust your opinion on food and just had to try it. (just like The Doghouse...who knew cream cheese on a hot dog could be so heavenly?!)
