I've been absent from this little blog for a couple of days. I'm going to blame it on work, getting ready for P's party and just overall tiredness from a lack of sleep due to a teething girl waking up at all hours. I'm telling you, it's like the rest of her teeth are coming in at once. Poor little thing.
Anyway, I heard this song and cried. Watch it. You have a heart of stone if you don't cry, ok, maybe not, but it'll make you sappy.
Not that I don't want her to grow up, because I do. It's just bittersweet. I love every stage she hits but oh man, I would really enjoy it if she would just cuddle with me on the couch for like two minutes!
So, random?
Yes.
Happy Friday!

Country Music Monday - O Holy Night
I know, this is a Christmas song, but, it's by a country music artist, Martina McBride.
This is my all time favorite Christmas song and I love Martina's version.
Hope you are getting in the Christmas spirit. We are around here. We have the tree up, the house decorated and we're making our way through our Advent calendar. It's been so much more fun this year because we get to start new traditions with our little girl.
Here are a couple pics I took of her by our tree.

Country Music Monday - Entertainer of the Year
Wow. The Brad Paisley concert was awesome! Saturday was the last stop for Paisley's H2O Tour and the Entertainer of the Year did not disappoint!
The show started with Justin Moore and then Darius Rucker took the stage. I cried when he sang, "It won't be like this for long." Big surprise there. Even the husband got a little teary-eyed. He ended his set with an awesome performance of "Purple Rain."
So good so far!
Then Mr. Brad Paisley himself took the stage!! I was giddy.
He played all my favorites including, Mud on the Tires, I'm gonna miss her, Then, Celebrity and Whiskey Lullaby.
Playing I'm Gonna Miss Her, remember this post :)
Cute little cowboy.
As a special treat, Roy Clark joined him on the stage and they played "Ghost Riders in the Sky."
What a night! We had so much fun!!
And a special thank you to Nana for watching my baby girl while we got to enjoy a date-night. She should also get Nana of the Year award for watching ALL 5 of her grandkids that night!
I have more pics from the night on my flickr stream.

Does anybody else think it's funny how much bigger Eric's head looks than mine!? I know he was closer to the camera, but really, it cracks me up. |

Country Music Monday - I'm Gonna Miss Her
In honor of the upcoming Brad Paisley concert this weekend, I bring you this song, "I'm Gonna Miss Her."
I remember when I first heard this song, I was with Eric and he totally cracked up. Fortunately for him, I love to fish as well...
Happy Monday!!
Well I love her
But I love to fish
I spend all day out on this lake
And hell is all I catch
Today she met me at the door
Said I would have to choose
If I hit that fishin' hole today
She'd be packin' all her things
And she'd be gone by noon
Well I'm gonna miss her
When I get home
But right now I'm on this lakeshore
And I'm sittin' in the sun
I'm sure it'll hit me
When I walk through that door tonight
That I'm gonna miss her
Oh, lookie there, I've got a bite
Now there's a chance that if I hurry
I could beg her to stay
But that water's right
And the weather's perfect
No tellin' what I might catch today
SO I'm gonna miss her
When I get home
But right now I'm on this lakeshore
And I'm sittin' in the sun
I'm sure it'll hit me
When I walk through that door tonight
YEAH I'm gonna miss her
Oh, lookie there, ANOTHER bite
Yeah, I'm gonna miss her
Oh, lookie there, I've got a bite
I remember when I first heard this song, I was with Eric and he totally cracked up. Fortunately for him, I love to fish as well...
Happy Monday!!

Country Music Monday - I Cross My Heart
I took a trip down memory lane this weekend. I was reorganizing a closet that had a bunch of photo albums and random loose pictures in it.
It was a little sad when I saw how many BAD hair cuts I've had over the years, not to mention how many BAD dye jobs I've had!!
Anyway, I came across a picture that I forgot existed!! Yay!
For those of you that don't know, Eric, aka the husband, and I started dating in high school. Before that he had a crush on my for a few years. I mentioned our first dance a few posts back. Well, I have a treat for you today. Pictures, never before published, from our first dance.
Here's the husband.
And here I am with a girl friend.
I'm still the same height, Eric, on the other hand is now over a foot taller. This isn't quite where our love story began, but it still makes me laugh at how long we've been hanging around each other.
So, that leads me to the song for today, I Cross My Heart, by George Strait.
My brother-in-law sang this at our wedding. I love it.
And here are some more historical photos for your enjoyment!

Lyrics:
Our love is unconditional
We knew it from the start
I see it in your eyes
You can feel it from my heart
From here on after
Lets stay the way we are right now
And share all the love and laughter
That a life time will allow
I cross my heart and promise to
Give all I've got to give
To make all your dreams come true
In all the world you'll never find
A love as true as mine
You will always be the miracle
That makes my life complete
And as long as theres a breath in me
I'll make yours just as sweet
As we look into the future
It's as far as we can see
So lets make each tomorrow
Be the best that it can be
I cross my heart and promise to
Give all I've got to give
To make all your dreams come true
In all the world you'll never find
A love as true as mine
And if along the way we find a day
It starts to storm
You've got the promise of my love
To keep you warm
In all the world
You'll never find
A love as true as mine
A love as true as mine
And here are some more historical photos for your enjoyment!

Country Music Monday - In My Daughter's Eyes
Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend!!
Here's another awesome country song for your Monday morning. This one is for all the mom's out there with daughters...
This past week has been crazy busy so posting has not been a priority. I hope to post more this week, maybe even do the NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) and try to post each day this month. Key words here, maybe and try. We'll see.
So for today anyway, here are some pics we took this week with Sweet P. I've been playing around with actions and love the effects on these.
Hope you all have a great week!
Here's another awesome country song for your Monday morning. This one is for all the mom's out there with daughters...
Lyrics:
In my daughter's eyes I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light and the
world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me gives me
strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes
And when she wraps her hand
around my finger
Oh it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about
It's hangin' on when your heart
has had enough
It's giving more when you feel like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daughter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
Though she'll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you see how happy
she made me
For I'll be there
In my daughter's eyes

Country Music Monday - Let Them Be Little
In an effort to turn you non-country song lovers into country music fans...here's another country song I love! Let them be little.
Hit the play button and then scroll down through the pictures.
Hit the play button and then scroll down through the pictures.
The rest of the lyrics:
I've never felt so much in one little tender touch
I live for those kisses, prayers and your wishes
Now that you're teaching me things only a child can see
Every night while we're on our knees all I ask is please
Let them be little 'cause they're only that way for a while
Give them hope, give them praise, give them love every day
Let them cry, let them giggle, let them sleep in the middle
Oh just let them be little
So innocent, a precious soul, you turn around
It's time to let them go
So let them be little 'cause they're only that way for a while
Give them hope, give them praise, give them love every day
Let them cry, let them giggle, let them sleep in the middle
Oh just let them be little
Let them be little
Special thanks to Ashley Ann for capturing the littleness of our girl. Also thanks to the Pioneer Woman for the free actions on the photos and to Pugly Pixel for the crumpled graph paper.
So, what's your favorite country song and why?
