All About My Sweet P

As my due date approaches, less than 11 weeks to go, I'm trying to take in every moment with my little Sweet P that I can.

We shop, picnic, meet daddy to feed the ducks and just enjoy our time together.

She's a lot like her momma, in many ways.

She has been inherited my inability to sit still when music comes on, love of laughter and a serious love for donuts.

She's also a lot like her daddy.

She thrives in the cold, she has the most gorgeous eyes and isn't afraid to get a little dirty.

She loves to be outside and she recently got to walk our little dog for the first time. The kid oozes joy!

She oozes joy a lot and is getting big so fast. We tried piggie-tails for the first time, she insists on doing most things by herself, she can rock massive headbands, neon and sunglasses - at the same time, she loves to color and she's getting more and more independent every day.

All of a sudden, my little sweet P turned into a full-out child.

She's a riot to be around and although I will miss our time together just the 3 of us, I'm pretty excited to watch her continue to grow and become an awesome big sister.

We love you little Sweet P.

Keeping it Real

After yesterday's long post, I'll keep this short.

We can't eat Chef-prepared meals every day so what do we do? Well, yesterday I had a play date with Sweet P and her friends at the park. So, on the way I stopped at Sonic to try one of their new hot dogs.

My sister told me about them a couple days before so I had to see what they were like. Here's the menu.

Confession time. I ate there two days in a row! I never really eat at Sonic either. I just go from time to time for happy hour. Anyway, yes, two days in a row for their new hot dogs.

I tried the New York dog first. It was good. Not great.

The next day I went back and tried the Chicago dog. It was really good. I took the pickle spear off because it was too difficult to eat with it on.

So, we keep it real around here. One night a 6 course meal, the next a hot dog from Sonic.

That's how I roll!

And here's Miss P at the park.

Happy hump day!

Sweet P Learned Some New Tricks

I mentioned yesterday that I got to watch my sister's 3 youngest kiddos for a couple of hours and I just wanted to report that I survived. Not only did I manage to get them back to their mom without any marks, I also had a blast!

Ashley brought me one of my favorite things. An iced vanilla latte from Rocket Brothers. A ginormous one. I drank it up after I caught Fire Cracker trying to steal a taste from my straw. Sweet P also tried getting a taste.

Good thing I'm still faster than her.

Needless to say, Sweet P was quite entertained with her cousins. She was especially interested in Little Brother Cousin's hair. So interested that she pulled up on her knees for the first time to get a handful.

He was great about it. He laughed and then asked me if I could get her.

The boys were amazing. They played with Sweet P's toys and gave her lots of love.

Duncan had a cuddle buddy.

And they watched a Lego movie...

...until it froze.

I tried the other dvd players and their other movies but not a single one would play. Little Brother Cousin told me I should "blow on it". This made me laugh as I thought about the original Nintendo system and how everyone I knew blew on those things. I'm pretty sure that's were that whole blow-on-it started. Anyway, blowing on it didn't work so we put one of my movies in.

When Fire Cracker woke up from her nap Sweet P was down for her's and the first word out of her mouth was "baby?" I told her baby was sleeping and handed her the monitor so she could see her Sister Cousin. She carried it around the house for a while until she saw a framed picture of her.

She loves her Sister Cousin!

And the poo-poo cookies I mentioned yesterday. Well, Little Brother Cousin asked what they were and after telling him, he told me he didn't want Duncan's poop. Duncan is my little dog. I told him that's what his Nana called them when his mom and I were growing up and explained what they were made of. He tasted one and told me he didn't like it.

Guess my cooking isn't for everyone!!

Thank you, Ashley, for letting me spend the afternoon with your kids. It was a treat and they're welcome anytime.

Sweet P's First Fair

My little girl is 10 weeks old today. It amazes me how time flies when you have a newborn and I absolutely love being a mom. Everything is more fun with a little one.

Take, for example, the fair. The Tulsa State Fair is going on right now so we took little Sweet P and did the usual, eat a corn dog and funnel cake, people watch and stroll along the midway but it was totally different this year because we had a little one to push around.

Here are some pics from her first fair experience.

What I Did This Weekend

I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was mixed with a lot of fun, a lot of work and a ton of baby time!!

The husband and I took Sweet P on her first fishing trip. It was a long car ride and not a lot of fishing.

We thought it would be cool enough outside with a ice breeze on the lake...we were wrong. About 5 minutes into fishing Sweet P started getting too hot and hungry. So I took her to the car to feed her and about 30 minutes later we left the lake. It was nice to get out of the house anyway!

On the way out we saw a bunch of deer!

I should also mention we took along our little dog, Duncan. He's a great fishing buddy and just loves being outside.

So, when he saw the deer out the window he started going crazy! After I snapped a few photos of the deer we opened the car door to see what he would do with the deer.

Why are the deer running? Because of the little blur!

They all ran behind the fence and stopped when they realized what he was. A small little dog that can't do much to them.

He was proud anyway.

We drove on and saw even more deer in front of someone's house! I think it's pretty cool that you can just drive down a road in Oklahoma and see stuff like this.

Did you notice the baby fawn!? Too cute.

And on to the work part. We are going to be selling our house soon so we have a few things to do before we can put the house up, including the kitchen. When we moved in the kitchen had hideous wood parquet floors. And one day the dishwasher started leaking and all the wood got sogged. So we pulled up the wood and found speckled laminate tiles.

We decided to put in ceramic tile...with my dad's help!

I think it's going to look great! We still have a lot of work left in the kitchen...but we have progress!!

Thanks dad!

Hope you all had a great weekend! And here's to a wonderful week!

Catching Up

Totally random picture post, special thanks to the Campbell's! For those of you that don't know, my sister gave me one of her "back-up" cameras and I've gone a little crazy since. I apologize for not being able to add titles but the formatting's all jacked up. So, there are pics from Christmas, our dogs, our fish, our herbs and dinner. I hope you enjoy. Thank you so much Campbell clan!
