Insanity

I'm trying something new for the entire month of June. I started the Insanity workout. I only have the cardio one right now, but after yesterday, that's all I'll need for a while. I am committing to getting up an hour early every day (*gasp* I love my sleep) and doing the workout each weekday for the entire month.

day1

Why am I telling you this? I feel like if I put it out there, it will be harder not to. You know I'm doing it, I know I said I would, so there.

I used to workout and loved it. I felt like I was in pretty good shape and liked it. Then I got pregnant. I haven't exercised much since and feel a little blah. Last week I scheduled a hair appointment but my lady didn't have an opening until June 21. Geez. My roots are getting a little ick up there. Anyway, I decided I'd use that date as a goal to get in better shape. So, better bod and better hair by the 21? We'll see.

Along with the workout, I'm going to eat a little healthier. Which means...

No more double-cheesy delicious burgers. (for a month)

day1burger

No more chili-cheese covered, golden-fried bits of tastiness (for a month)

day1tot

And sadly, no more delicious, sweet, icing-covered pasteries. (for a month)

day1dd

Or pretty much anything else that resembles anything that Jillian Michaels would kick my booty for!

(Well maybe not none of those things, just limited amounts.) And yes, this is the small print.

But just because I'm going to try to be healthier, that doesn't mean I'm not going to eat tasty things anymore. This morning I whipped up some Greek yogurt, frozen blueberries and granola.

Healthy Breakfast

So take that donut.

  1. Your post makes me so sad I want to cry.

You are going to be one hot mama by the end of the month. Now if only I could motivate myself to do the same thing. It's not the working out I have a hard time with, it's the food. Oh, the FOOD.

  2. Wow! You're trying insanity? You'll have to keep us posted on how that goes. I've seen the commercials and they look motivating, but really hard! I've been doing Jillian Michaels work-outs for sometime now and love them. I thought about stepping it up to insanity - thought about it. ;)

  6. umm it's a little concerning that i felt a tinge of panic when you ended your post saying there would be no more of your deliciously high calorie recipe meals! :)

  7. Wow! This is awesome. I just started Insanity yesterday. Even just the "FIT TEST" was epic hard. lol. Are you sticking to the schedule?

Also? don't cut all those tasty things out of your diet! that only makes it HARDER to stick to it. Take it from someone who successfully did 90 days of Turbo Fire and lost wait and still ate candy. it's all fine in moderation.

Anyways - I can't wait to follow you! I am trying to get up early too so perhaps you will be my motivation

  9. I want a doughnut so bad now!

    eep! I'm rooting for you!

You can do it! Just picture Jillian right behind you shouting "Last chance workout! Last chance!"
Well, that and maybe a key Bible verse about endurance or hope or etc.? :)

Also, I've never tried that yogurt combo with frozen berries before. Love it with blueberries, strawberries or even just honey mixed in! (I try to think it's just as yummy -but healthier- than ice cream sometimes :)

  10. I should also clarify, I'm not doing the insanity plan. I just have the cardio workout for now so I'm did that all week. Next week is plyometrics and a couple of others. Sheesh, it is nuts.

And, I'm getting Mexican food tonight so as not to die. I think my body would quit working without it!
